Breckenridge awaits state levy limit
The Breckenridge Finance Committee met Monday for its initial budget session with little to go on, they said. The city must set its preliminary 2011 budget by Sept. 15, but the state levy limit has not yet been established. Last year, the city received word of the limit by Aug. 8.
Obama Says Talk Radio is Troublesome Kurt Nimmo www.infowars.com April 2, 2010 After shooting hoops for the cameras, Harry Smith of CBS asked Obama his thoughts on talk radio. Smith said a lot of people consider him a socialist and even a Nazi and asked the president if he is aware of this. Well, I think that when you listen to Rush Limbaugh or Glenn Beck, its pretty apparent, and its troublesome, but keep in mind that there have been periods in American history where this kind of vitriol comes out, Obama responded. It happens often when youve got an economy that is making people more anxious, and people are feeling like there is a lot of change that needs to take place. But thats not the vast majority of Americans. I think the vast majority of Americans know that were trying hard, that I want whats best for the country. According to CBS, Obama said both Democrats and Republicans have a responsibility to tone down the rhetoric, but that much of it has to do with the current media environment in which extreme comments are echoed in the blogosphere. In other words, the problem is not so much establishment talk radio hosts like Limbaugh and Beck but the internet and alternative media. Obama wants the blogosphere (corporate media shorthand for alternative media) to tone down the rhetoric, that is to say follow the rules on discourse established by the government. Americans have a responsibility to be polite and wait for the corporate media to get around to interviewing them …

LOCKPORT–Niagara County has been approved for a state grant that will help finance a major expansion at a Wheatfield company, County Legislature Majority Leader Richard E. Updegrove announced during a recent Legislature meeting.
The Illinois Senate career of Barack Obama stretched from 1997 (when Barack Obama was sworn in to his first term in the Illinois Senate) to 2004 (when he was elected to the United States Senate). Starting in 1993 and throughout his state senate career, Obama also taught constitutional law part-time at the University of Chicago Law School, as a Lecturer from 1992 to 1996 and as a Senior Lecturer from 1996-2004, when he was elected to the US Senate. In the March 17, 1998 primary election, Obama, running unopposed on the ballot, won the Democratic nomination for state Senator for the 13th District, and Yesse Yehudah, running unopposed on the ballot, won the Republican nomination. In the November 3 general election, Obama was re-elected to a four-year term as state Senator for the 13th District with 89% of the vote; first-time Republican Party candidate Yesse Yehudah received 11% of the vote. Early in his first term, the just-retired US Senator Paul Simon called a longtime Obama mentor, judge and former congressman Abner Mikva. Simon suggested that Mikva recommend Obama to Emil Jones, Jr., the powerful Democratic leader of the state Senate. “‘Say, our friend Barack Obama has a chance to push this campaign finance bill through,’” Simon said in a telephone conversation, as recounted by Mikva in a 2008 interview. “‘Why don’t you call your friend Emil Jones and tell him how good he is.’” With Jones’ support, Obama helped pass a sweeping law that banned most gifts from lobbyists …

From a macroeconomic view, I am trying to write a description of the current US economy. I am looking at factors such as: Inflation, Mortgages, Inflation, Unemployment, Banking, and Interest Rates. I can not find any information about this in words that I am able to understand. All of the numbers are completely confusing me because I have no idea what any of this means. Can anyone explain to me in words that I can understand, exactly what is going on with our economy today?
